A multi-genre reading course in English that seeks to bring the richness of
literature from around the world in the classrooms. The texts have been carefully
selected from the world of authentic children’s literature and adapted and
abridged whenever necessary to suit the students. Each book in the course, invites
the students to use their imaginations, expand their vocabularies and gain
a better understanding of themselves and tehe world around them.
Moreover, varieties of activities in all the three stages of reading (pre, while and
post) engage the students actively in the learning process and motivate them to
think critical and respond creatively. The book also includes works that are done
not just by famous writers from the past but also contemporary children writers
such as Ronald Dalh. Delights serves as a mirror in which children see themselves
reflected and a window through which they can explore the world around them.
